Public Rooms

All our public rooms have welcoming log fires - perfect for helping you wind down, as well as keeping you warm. Each room has a service bell, connected to the original butler panel; and, yes, they still work.

The Sutherland Restaurant with its magnificent fireplace and hand painted ceiling, offers a spectacular setting for dinner.  It offers unpretentious fine dining in the Scottish Borders using the best ingredients, often home-grown but always local and seasonal, prepared with the greatest of care but not too much fuss.

The Maguire Room is the perfect place for our delicious afternoon teas, morning coffee with the papers and pre-dinner drinks.

Our newly created bar in what was previously the library, is serving draught lager and ale plus of course cocktails created by our knowledgeable bar man.  Don't forget the whiskies!

The conservatory with its almost 360° view of the gardens is the perfect place for wedding ceremonies and evening entertaining.  In summer it is the gateway to the tables on the lawn where we can serve teas, lunch, drinks and so on.

Adjacent to the conservatory you will find the Garden Room, a cosy lounge that we open up for meetings, private dinners or anything else private.

All public rooms can be accessed by the lift.
